Black Panther Epic Collection: Revenge of the Black Panther, Marvel. Some of Jack Kirby’s more overlooked ’70s Marvel work, if you ask me. Worth your time and attention.

Captain America: Heroes Return Complete Collection, Vol. 1, Marvel. Mark Waid and Ron Garney’s return to Cap didn’t quite recapture the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of their first short run, but these are still some very enjoyable comics.

Uncanny X-Men Omnibus Vol. 4, Marvel. I’ve been on a classic Chris Claremont X-Men tear lately, just now making my way into the third omnibus. While I definitely notice a slight drop in quality following the golden age of Claremont and Byrne, in terms of a continuing narrative in the hands of a single writer with an extended ensemble cast, this really is an accomplishment like no other in comics. Chris Claremont definitely deserves more credit than he gets.

Black Knight #1 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. The pre-Marvel Age debut of the Black Knight! Get ’em while you can, folks. Marvel’s Facsimile Editions appear to be fading away…

American Born Chinese, First Second. Gene Luen Yang’s marvelous, award-winning graphic novel is out in a new printing. Brilliant and moving, with intersecting plot lines that provide a rich and meaningful reading experience. One of the best GNs I’ve ever read.

Alter Ego #168, TwoMorrows. Aquaman’s Paul Norris and animator/cartoonist Willie Ito get a big spotlight in Roy Thomas’ latest. (Click here for more details.)

Bullpen Buggies, Super7. Nothing was more exciting watching baseball in the ’70s than seeing relievers with long hair and huge mustaches ride in from the bullpen in one of these. The Yankees never actually had one. They had a pinstriped Toyota instead. Bleh. Now you can right that wrong! (Other teams available too. 1/64 scale, $12.99 each.)

Mascots, Super7. And if Bullpen Buggies aren’t your thing, then go for a mascot like Mr. Met, the Phillie Phanatic or, um, San Francisco’s Crazy Crab (3 3/4-inch scale, $18 each).
