The Avengers #57 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. Oh, man. A note-for-note reprint of one of the greatest Marvel issues ever, by Roy Thomas and John Buscema. For $3.99.

Overstreet@50, Gemstone Publishing. A 50th anniversary retrospective of the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide and its considerable impact on the comics world. Available in both paperback and hardcover. (Click here for an INSIDE LOOK.)

True Believers, Marvel. Two dollar reprints this week, linked to the King In Black event: The Avengers #48 and The Incredible Hulk #141. Cool.

Sweet Tooth: The Return #1, DC. Jeff Lemire re-imagines his outstanding post-apocalyptic Vertigo series, which was one of the best comics I’ve read in the last decade or so. Looking forward to the Netflix series too – whenever we get to see it.

DC Classics: The Batman Adventures #6, DC. The publisher is still plugging away with this series of $2 reprints, which is great. But I still want DC to bring back the Facsimile Editions and Dollar Comics, which have disappeared this year.

Justice League Unlimited: Time After Time, DC. I wish we’d get more collections of these fantastic Justice League Unlimited comics that DC used to publish in conjunction with the classic animated series. Always reliably enjoyable stuff.

Michael Golden’s Micronauts Artist’s Edition, IDW. This may be the closest thing we ever get to a collection of the best, most underrated comic-book series of the 1970s. Don’t miss it. (Click here for an INSIDE LOOK.)

U.S. Agent #1, Marvel. I’ve been a big fan of the John Walker character ever since Mark Gruenwald and Kieron Dwyer created him back in the legendary “President Fires Cap” storyline in the late ’80s. He’s really been put through the wringer in recent years, so I’m curious what new writer Christopher Priest has in store for him.
