HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Marvel Horror Lives Again Omnibus, Marvel. This sequel to last year’s Marvel Horror Omnibus brings you nearly 1,200 more pages of ’70s thrills. (Click here for the full story list.) Since trick-or-treating is a no-no this year, may I recommend turning off all the lights, putting a blanket over your head and reading this with a flashlight?

Batman: The Animated Series: The Phantom City Creative Collection, Insight Editions. A lovely looking collection of BTAS-inspired art from Mondo and artist Justin Erickson – including “movie posters” for individual episodes.

Betty and Veronica Best Friends Jumbo Comics #285, Archie. Nobody does seasonal comics quite like Archie. This digest includes a new story – plus dig that Dan Parent cover.

Alter Ego #166, TwoMorrows. A Captain Marvel-focused issue featuring Alex Ross and Kurt Schaffenberger. Well, Sha-zam! (Click here for a SNEAK PEEK.)

True Believers, Marvel. Two more dollar reprints featuring Black Widow, even though the movie’s not coming until… someday.

Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension

X-Men: The Art and Making of the Animated Series, Abrams. I’ve been on a real nostalgia kick with the ’90s animated series lately, thanks to its availability on Disney+, so this comes along at the perfect time.

Doomsday Clock: The Complete Collection, DC. I’m curious to read this in a single sitting, as I lost track of it after the countless delays to the monthlies. Much of the excitement is gone since it’s had very little impact on DC’s current continuity, but I’d still like to give it a look.

Captain America Epic Collection: Monsters and Men, Marvel. J. M. DeMatteis’ excellent Captain America stint continues here, with art from ’80s mainstay Mike Zeck. One of my favorite Cap runs, alongside Gruenwald and Waid.
