Aquaman #43, DC. First, let’s pause to appreciate writer Dan Abnett’s years-long run of palace intrigue and civil war. Aquaman has long been one of DC’s most consistent titles, thanks in part to Abnett and his collaborators. Now, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Robson Rocha and Daniel Henriques pick up the trident. Freedom Fighters #1, DC. It is such a pleasure to see DC again delve into its storied Multiverse with this updated take on the Freedom Fighters. Robert Venditti — who’s helming the terrific Hawkman — is joined by Eddy Barrows on Earth-X, where the Nazis won World War II. Feels timely, no?

Spider-Geddon #5, Marvel. Hey, Aquaman isn’t the only big superhero movie out right now. Don’t forget that other hit, Into the Spider-Verse. So wouldn’t you know the conclusion to Marvel’s big Spider-Verse event hits racks this week, courtesy of Christos Gage, Jorge Molina, et al.

Justice League #14, DC. Not to repeat myself, but Justice League has been a lot of fun. With Drowned Earth and the Joker’s shenanigans in the rearview, the focus turns to Hawkgirl, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter’s quest on Thanagar. She-Hulk by Soule & Pulido Complete Collection TPB, Marvel. This was a great She-Hulk series that ended far too soon. Highly recommended.
