Hawkman #1, DC Comics. Finally, Hawkman has his own book back. You have my attention. Written by Robert Venditti, with art by Bryan Hitch and colors by Alex Sinclair. (Adds Dan: Yeah, this is long overdue. Hawkman never seems to catch on for long, so here’s hoping for a nice, entertaining, healthy run. Click here for an overview of Hawkman’s first 13 (!) series.)

Plastic Man #1, DC Comics. Another new start for a classic Golden Age DC hero. Intrigued. Miniseries by Gail Simone, Adriana Melo and Kelly Fitzpatrick.

Marvel Masterworks: Ant-Man/Giant-Man Vol. 3 HC, Marvel. I love it when an Ant-Man movie is about to hit and it’s all Ant-Man books and comics all the time for a few weeks.

Thor #1, Marvel. Thor Odinson reclaims his mantle with his new gold arm and new penciller (Mike del Mundo). There’s also a King Thor tale with Christian Ward on art. All written by Jason Aaron, natch.

Batman: Prelude to the Wedding – Batgirl vs. the Riddler #1, DC. I’m not always a fan of tie-in stunts like this but these weekly one-shots have been fun. By Tim Seeley, Minkyu Jung and the rest of the bridal party.

The Man of Steel #3, DC. Rogol Zaar shows up – and so does a friend from Gotham City. So I guess you could shout, “Bendis does Batman! Bendis does Batman!” Heh. Art this issue is by Ryan Sook (with an assist by Jason Fabok and colors by Alex Sinclair).

Titans Special #1, DC. More than two years ago, DC began revamping its Titans line-ups with the Titans Hunt miniseries and then the Rebirth launch. Basically, the Titans were based on the ’60s and ’70s originals, with the Teen Titans echoing Wolfman and Perez’s New Teen Titans. Now, both teams are getting shaken up – starting here. Let’s see how this all plays out, shall we? Written by Dan Abnett, with more than a dozen artists.
