Scooby-Doo Team-Up #31, DC. Wait, wait, wait. DC has TWO comics starring Ray Palmer out this week? Really? NICE! This series, by Sholly Fisch and Dario Brizuela, is wonderful.

Action Comics #990, DC. Superboy and Mr. Oz (aka You Know Who) team up, which should be fun. For the record, I believe that Mr. Oz is exactly who he says he is. For the record, I don’t believe it’ll last any more than something like this did in, say, the Silver Age. Still much more interested in how this plays into Doomsday Clock. But it’s entertaining either way. By Dan Jurgens and Viktor Bogdanovic.

Marvel Vintage Legends, Hasbro. The toymaker is dusting off some of its 6-inch Legends figures (with apparently slight repaints) and sticking them into retro packaging that recalls the ToyBiz years. Have I ever mentioned that Wolverine’s brown costume is my favorite? (Also in the set are Spidey, Cap, Iron Man, Punisher and Black Widow.)

Celebrating Snoopy, AMP Kids. I got a chance to see an advance copy of this deluxe slipcase hardcover collection of the most popular and memorable Snoopy strips from the full tenure of Schulz’s Peanuts run; it’s a beautiful book, the perfect gift for any Snoopy fan.

Night Force by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan: The Complete Collection, DC Comics. This little-remembered, underrated gem from the 1980s features some gorgeous illustrations from the great Gene Colan. Hardcover.

For Better Or For Worse: The Complete Library, Vol. 1: 1979-1982, IDW Publishing. I can’t think of a comic strip that more deserves the deluxe hardcover series treatment. Going to be a real treat to go back and re-discover Lynn Johnston’s work.

Incredible Hulk Epic Collection: The Hulk Must Die, Marvel. This paperback collection features some of my all-time favorite Hulk stories by Stan Lee, Steve Ditko and Gil Kane, including the first appearances of the Leader and the Abomination!

Batman Animated Batcave Playset with Alfred, DC Collectibles. I saw this thing up close at San Diego Comic-Con. A) It’s huge, and B) the light-up computer screen shows the schematics of Mr. Freeze’s ice cannon from the episode Heart of Ice. Sold.
