Golden Age AQUAMAN Makes a Splash in Upcoming ALTER EGO

The co-creator of the Swift and Powerful Monarch of the Ocean gets an Aqua-salute…

With comics slowly returning to normal, it’s great to get news about upcoming projects — especially from our fave history-magazine publishers TwoMorrows.

Now, we may be a little early on this one but Alter Ego #168 — due in early 2021 — will focus on Paul Norris and the Golden Age Aquaman.

Dig this official description:

March 2021 – 84 pages (FULL COLOR)

Alter Ego #168 shows two very different sides of World War II, revealed in Richard Arndt interviews! The wartime life of Aquaman artist/co-creator Paul Norris, with a Golden/Silver Age gallery of art featuring Aquaman, Flash Gordon, Brick Bradford, & other fabulous heroes of comicbooks and strips—plus the story of Willie Ito, who endured the WWII Japanese-American relocation centers to become a Disney & Warner Bros. animator and to draw such comicbooks/strips as Pogo, Winnie the Pooh, Beany and Cecil, etc. Plus FCA, Michael T. Gilbert, John Broome, and more, behind a Norris cover showcasing early-1940s Aquaman! Edited by Roy Thomas.

A few thoughts:

— The issue is due to ship Feb. 10, 2021, give or take a week or so. (That is subject to change as is so much with the comics industry these days.)

— The issue will be available in comics shops but you can already pre-order it through TwoMorrows (click here).

— I know very little about this period in Aquaman’s history so I am all in on this one.

  1. One of only a small handful of Golden Age heroes who didn’t get to meet up with their Silver Age counterparts in an Earth One/Two crossover. Maybe an untold pre-Crisis story is lurking somewhere in the murky depths…
