Funko’s Batmobile is out (click here) and so is Wave 1 of the individual 3.75-inch figures (click here).

Next up? The San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Batmobile:

That’s right — the Batmobile and Batman done up Japanese-style, emulating the multicolor tin toys of yesteryear.

Funko senior product designer Reis O’Brien told us on The Batcave Podcast (click here) to expect some wild stuff ahead and he was right. This is pretty dang cool. And I LOVE that packaging.

The company telegraphed that they were going to go this route back at Toy Fair (click here), so I can’t say I’m completely surprised. (I would imagine blue and gold Batmobile variants down the line, as well, given Funko’s record in their other Batman ’66 lines, such as Pop! and Dorbz.)

I’m in all the way — and I’m still rooting for an Italian movie-poster version of Batman:

Price? Dunno yet but once I get more info I’ll pass it along.

In the meantime, check out these images grabbed from Funko’s official SDCC DC-exclusives video:

And here’s the complete video. The Batmobile is about the 0:45 mark:

  2. Holy conversation piece, Batman! That’s pretty cool. I was expecting the flocked version but this is a wonderfully odd alternative.

  3. I LOVE the idea of variants and want one of these REALLY bad. However, making it extremely limited and a SDCC exclusive means it will be close to impossible to get for many. Yeah, I’m being “that guy.” Thanks, Funko.
