EXCLUSIVE: New Superhero Exhibit to Soar in November

With a VIP gala starring Burt Ward, Ilya Salkind and Lindsay Wagner…

The Hollywood Museum, home of the wildly popular Batman ’66 exhibit (click here), is putting the final touches on its next superhero retrospective — and is adding The Bionic Woman to the mix.

As we reported back in August, organizers have been prepping a new, permanent exhibit that would feature not just TV’s Batman, Robin and Batgirl, but would also include Christopher Reeve’s Superman and Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman.

Now, the museum has set an opening date: Nov. 14.

The whole thing kicks off with a VIP/media-only preview Nov. 13 that will be headlined by Batman’s Burt Ward, Superman executive producer Ilya Salkind and The Bionic Woman star Lindsay Wagner.

The centerpiece of the exhibit — originally called The World’s Finest 5 but now dubbed 20th Century Superhero Legends — will be five life-size, costume-clad sculptures boasting the likenesses of Adam West, Ward, Yvonne Craig, Reeve and Carter. Reeve’s costume was actually screen-worn while the others will be dead-on replicas. There will also be items from Wagner.

“This exhibit will be the first time these life-like superheroes will stand together fighting evil, and they will be at the Hollywood Museum forever,” said museum founder Donelle Dadigan. “This new exhibit includes key pieces of memorabilia and collectibles relating to these ever-popular superheroes. There’s something on display for every fan – from kids, to teens, to adults and seniors. This exhibit happily unleashes our childhood memories.”

The Batman ’66 exhibit, which has been extended until the end of the year, comprises a similar mix of screen-used and replica items and is utterly fabulous. (Click here for an INSIDE LOOK.)
