BATMAN ’66 Exhibit Revamped — and Extended Again

EXCLUSIVE: A special event featuring BURT WARD is scheduled for Sept. 8…

One of the highlights of the year has doubtlessly been the Hollywood Museum’s Batman ’66 retrospective that debuted in January.

It’s filled with both authentic memorabilia and dead-on accurate replica costumes and props. (Click here for an UP-CLOSE LOOK.)

Anyway, the exhibit was extended once already — and now it’s being extended again, Hollywood Museum owner Donelle Dadigan has announced. Not only that, the organizers are switching up the exhibit, with some items coming out and new items coming in.

Adam West and Burt Ward’s original costumes, replica villain costumes, and the Batmobile and Batcycle are among the items that will remain, organizers say.

New items include a life-size Victor Buono King Tut sculpture with replica costume that was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, plus contributions from Barris Kustoms — including the original Batmobile blueprint and other collectibles.

Kicking it all off will be a special panel at the museum scheduled for Sept. 8, featuring Ward. The moderator will be exhibit organizer Roger Neal, Ward’s longtime publicist, and will include collectors Pat Evans, Rob Klein, Tom Woodruff, Alex Zsolt and Kelly Delcambre. Also appearing will be Jared Barris of Barris Kustoms and Donna Loren, who memorably played Susie in the Season 1 caper The Joker Goes to School. (Loren will also be doing a book signing after the panel.)

The panel starts at 1:00 p.m. and goes until 2:30, with “lots of surprises” promised by organizers. Special $40 VIP tickets are required and include admission to the museum, the panel with refreshments, a commemorative t-shirt and 10 percent off a dessert at Mel’s Diner next door.

The revamped exhibit will run into November.

  1. That’s the same day as the Raymond Scott festival in Burbank. If I was rich, retired and lived in the area I’d try to do both.
