ALEX ROSS’ Massive MARVEL MURAL to Be Released As Enormous Calendar

A masterwork for your wall…

Wow, it’s January and there’s already a fab 2023 calendar to look forward to: the Alex Ross Marvel Mural 2023 Oversized Wall Calendar.

And it’s not just any calendar, this thing is huge — 6 feet wide by 2 feet tall.

Dig the official description, from an Amazon listing:

ALEX ROSS MARVEL MURAL 2023 OVERSIZED WALL CALENDAR

From Spider-Man and the Hulk to Doctor Strange and Wolverine, 35 of your favorite Marvel Comics Super Heroes come alive in this 2023 calendar featuring an over-sized mural by Alex Ross—one of most respected and influential artists working in comics. Originally commissioned for Marvel’s New York City offices, the mural presents the Marvel Super Heroes painted in the award-winning, breathtaking style that made Alex Ross famous. As realistic as any on the silver screen, these classic heroes appear as never seen before.

Features include:

  • 72″ wide x 24″ tall (12″ x 12″ closed)
  • Packaged in a full-color, keepsake envelope
  • Printed on FSC-certified paper with soy-based inks
  • Perforated, removable 2023 calendar grid
  • Reverse features full-color portraits of 10 Marvel Super Heroes
  • Unfolds to showcase the full-color Marvel Super Hero mural by Alex Ross

A few thoughts:

— The calendar, published through Abrams ComicArts, is due Aug. 9, 2022, and lists for $24.99.

— The scheduling is likely no accident. Besides being the time of year when calendars are released, it’s slated for the same month that Ross’ Fantastic Four original graphic novel Full Circle is expected — also through Abrams.

— If you can’t wait for a close-up look, The Alex Ross Marvel Comics Poster Book was released in 2021. It includes a gatefold of the mural — but in a far smaller size.

Standard caveat: This has not been solicited by Marvel yet, as far as I can tell, so nothing is official until it’s official. Even then, things can change. Just keep coming to 13th Dimension for updates.
