13 Magnificent BATMAN Sketches by CHRIS SAMNEE

A modern master visits Gotham for the month of October — yet again.

You know what Inktober is? Inktober is a month-long exercise where artists draw a new sketch in ink every day in October. There are single-word prompts chosen by Inktober’s founder Jake Parker and the artists take it from there, frequently posting their illustrations on social media.

You can click here for more info but here is 2019’s prompt list:

Now, for the last two years we’ve posted 13 Batman Inktober sketches by artist Chris Samnee for no reason other than he’s one of the best around and his images are startlingly great and spectacularly clever. (You can find the links to those selections below.)

Anyway, it’s another October, so it’s another Inktober — and Chris has once again given us the green light to share 13 of his magnificent sketches.

Best part? There’s still plenty of time left in the month, so there’s lots more to come. Chris posts his pix on Twitter — and you should follow him.

Meantime, check out these dark and stormy beauties:

I especially love this one because it’s reminiscent of Frank Robbins and Dick Giordano’s classic The Batman Nobody Knows! from Batman #250.
