13 Glorious SUPER WEIRD HEROES

Preposterous but true!

In 2016, Yoe Books and IDW released the spectacularly strange Super Weird Heroes, a hardcover compendium of stories starring bizarre Golden Age heroes.

See, for every Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, there was the Deacon, Spider Widow and Rainbow Boy. And legions more after that. (Click here for lots more info. You’ll thank me.)

Anyway, Craig Yoe and Clizia Gussoni are not ones to let a good idea die, so they’re back with a sequel — Super Weird Heroes Vol. 2: Preposterous But True! Not only that, they’ve got Gene Simmons — yes, that Gene Simmons — providing the introduction.

The book is out 9/5 in comics shops and will be available at online retailers soon after.

Now, I’ve had a chance to dive into this dandy new edition and I’ve got 13 great splash pages to show off to you, featuring the likes of Hip Knox, the Ferret and my personal favorite — Tomboy, a concept as perfect as it is dated. And part of the fun is seeing names like Jerry Siegel and Otto Binder — creators known for, shall we say, more successful characters — show up.

(Keep in mind, the book offers many more selections — as well as histories and complete stories for each hero.)

So get your Super Weird on:
