Superman’s co-creator was born 100 years ago — and we’re honored to give him a 13 Covers salute.
In a supremely ironic and melancholy twist, while many of us were calling out DC for not letting Superman’s shield be used on a memorial statue of a murdered boy this week (they relented), we didn’t realize that Superman’s co-creator was born 100 years ago on July 10.
So here, now, is our tip of the cape to the man who co-created the very first superhero, artist Joe Shuster:
