Steve Ditko has died at the age of 90 and amid all the tributes and appreciations, one thing goes without saying: Spider-Man was his highest achievement — an enduring legacy and pop-culture juggernaut. (Whether he liked it or not, I suppose.)

  1. Truly iconic stuff. I love the cover to 19 especially, and I am in awe of the wonderfully writhing anatomy and bodily interplay on 29 (I am reminded of Gil Kane’s genius work!).
