13 COVERS: A WILLIAM MOULTON MARSTON Birthday Celebration

A sensational selection saluting Wonder Woman’s creator…

As remarkable as this sounds, William Moulton Marston — who created Wonder Woman under the name Charles Moulton — was born 127 years ago, on May 9, 1893.

I’m not 100 percent sure but that might make him the first person born on the planet to eventually create a comic-book superhero.

That may be essentially meaningless but it’s abundantly clear that only someone as forward-thinking as Marston — with input from his wife, Elizabeth Holloway Marston — would be able to come up with the Amazing Amazon.

So here are 13 COVERS saluting Wonder Woman and the Marstons. All are by Marston’s artistic collaborator H.G. Peter — and all come from Sensation Comics. Just because.

Peter drew Wonder Woman. Jon L. Blummer drew the rest.
