13 COVERS: A RICH BUCKLER Birthday Celebration

The Bronze Age stalwart was born 72 years ago…

The late Rich Buckler — born 72 years ago on Feb. 6, 1949 — pencilled so many characters for so many publishers that it’s very difficult to boil down a representative set of 13 COVERS.

But that actually makes it more fun because we can spotlight so many different heroes and villains that were brought to life on his drafting table.

This year, the focus is on Buckler’s run (pun intended) as The Flash cover artist in the late ’70s.

Right on.

  1. Rich Buckler did some great work on a lot of different titles. You picked some fun Flash covers here! it is hard to pick my favorite. 266 with Flash coming out of his boots is a great one! 258 with Black Hand burning up Flash kind of shocked me as a kid.

  2. I’ll always love those covers with Abra Kadabra, Black Hand and the Top. Thanks, Mr. Buckler, and Happy Birthday.
