13 COVERS: A GIL KANE Birthday Celebration

An all-time great…

The late, great Gil Kane was born April 6, 1926 — 93 years ago. (He died in 2000.)

He began his career in the Golden Age, blossomed as one of the chief architects of the Silver Age and pioneered new formats in the Bronze Age. Throughout, his dynamic approach to staging and anatomy thrilled and influenced generations of readers and artists.

He was one of the very best.

For this year’s 13 COVERS birthday salute, we’re going back to his seminal work on Green Lantern, which we last spotlighted in 2016. (Click here and thank me later. Great stuff.)

Dig it.
