The late, great Famous Monsters of Filmland impresario was born 105 years ago…

The world of comics, horror and sci-fi would not be what it is without the pioneers who obsessively chronicled all that we love about such genres. A classic example is the late editor/writer Forrest J. Ackerman, who was born 105 years ago on Nov. 24, 1916.

Ackerman was the driving force behind Famous Monsters of Filmland, which is arguably the greatest monster mag of all time.

Well, with Ackerman’s birthday upon us, we’ve got a 13 COVERS tribute for you to enjoy — a collection from Famous Monsters’ first 20 years, from 1958 to 1978.
