A rumination on a 50th issue.—
Superman can barely last 50 issues before rebooting in this modern world of comics and yet here we are at Popeye Classic Comics #50, with no signs of slowing down from Yoe Comics and IDW. Now, I know that’s comparing apples and spinach but I’m nonetheless impressed by the commitment of Craig Yoe, Clizia Gussoni and the folks at IDW to publish these Bud Sagendorf classics in issue form every month. There’s something really wonderful about that. So enjoy this EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of comics first published in the 1950s. Out 9/14.
