ADAM WEST and the Fate of BATMAN VS. TWO-FACE

Here’s what’s going on with the animated sequel…

With the death of Adam West, I’ve gotten a number of questions from readers about the fate of Batman vs. Two-Face, the second Batman ’66 animated feature.

I contacted Warner Bros. and they told me that, yes, Adam West completed his recording.

No release date has been announced though I’m guessing — and this is total educated conjecture — that we’ll get information on that front sometime around San Diego Comic-Con next month.

If you’re unfamiliar with the project (though I imagine you’re not), Batman vs. Two-Face is a sequel to Return of the Caped Crusaders and will co-star William Shatner as the title villain. (Inspired casting, that.)

Here’s even a script page that Julie Newmar shared online last year:

So we still have more Adam West as Batman to look forward to, which is nice to know.

And if you’d like to hear what Adam West had to say about bringing Batman back in animation — as well as the live-action show’s legacy — click here.

  1. It’s comforting to know we’ve got more Batman from Adam to come. I had hoped this was the case. Thanks for sharing the news.

  2. Sounds good, but how close will it be to Harlan Ellison’s original script?
We all know how bad they butchered “City on the Edge of Forever”.

  3. Is this the same story by Harlan Ellison adapted into a special issue of Batman ’66?
