13 COVERS: A JERRY ROBINSON Birthday Celebration

One of Gotham’s greatest architects was born 95 years ago.

Other than Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Jerry Robinson — who was born Jan. 1, 1922, and died in 2011 — had more to do with introducing the basics of Batman’s world than just about anyone. He was instrumental in creating Robin and the Joker, for example. Just think about that.

Anyway, for this year’s 13 COVERS salute, I decided to keep it Detective Comics-only. That’s because last year, we did 13 Batman covers. (Click here.)
