13 COVERS: A FRANK MILLER Birthday Celebration

I dare to pick 13

See now, you’d figure I’d make this a Batman thing. Well, I’m not. For one thing, Frank Miller — who was born Jan 27, 1957 — didn’t do all that many Batman covers. I did consider doing a catch-all 13 COVERS but that just didn’t seem right.

Nah, I’m going all in on Daredevil. The original run, mind you. No specials, miniseries, trade covers, etc. Just basic, down-and-dirty Daredevil.

Because he’s Goddamn Frank Miller and he wrote and drew the hell out of Goddamn Daredevil.

Oh, and all inks are by Klaus Janson unless otherwise noted. (His birthday was Jan. 23, 1952, by the way.)

Happy birthday, gentlemen.

(My standard caveat: This is a subjective list and not a ranking of any kind. This is pretty much what I dig and you may feel very differently. So, rather than beef about a cover you don’t see, instead join in the fun and share your own choices in the comments section or in whatever social-media thread you saw this.)

Ah, the hell with it. I couldn’t resist.
